If you have any questions that are not answered in the section below please feel free to e-mail us anytime...we will try to get back to you the same day if possible.
Q... Why should I add the extra expense of a Makeup Artist?!
A ... Most people that contact us are either getting married or have something very special that they want to look their best for. Having literally done hundreds of faces, and having many years of experience with photo-shoots and special occassions...we can help you look the way you want. Knowing how to make your makeup pop in pictures and have it last all day will make all the difference. It's worth that little extra expense!
Q ... What kind of makeup do you use?
A ... Our traditional on-location kits are stocked with a variety of high quality makeup. We use a lot of mineral makeup because it's so good for your skin. Youngblood (www.ybskin.com) and Obsessed Minerals are two of our favorites! (www.obsessedminerals.com). Aside from mineral makeup, we always have a wide variety of brands and formulas to choose from that will compliment any skintone or texture. For airbrushing makeup, we use Temptu Pro which is the top selling airbrushing product on the market right now.
Q ... Do you travel just to do the bride only?
A ... We have a 3 person minimum (including the bride) when choosing a traditional makeup application (not airbrushing). There may be a minimum for airbrushing depending on the month you are inquiring about. In some cases we can fit a "bride only" for airbrushing, so it's best to still inquire about your day! Half day and daily rates are available for "bride only" if choosing traditional makeup. Please contact Julie for all quotes and pricing for every situation is different.
Q ... Will my last makeup all day?
A ... Yes, yes, yes! Your makeup will most definitely last all day. When choosing a traditional makeup application we will use high quality and long lasting makeup. All the makeup will be set with a waterproofing spray. Touch-up products like lipsticks, glosses and powders (from Youngblood Makeup) are available for purchase to have handy on the wedding day if needed. When choosing Airbrushing, it will last for 18 hours!! It is made for longevity and holds up to it's promise.

Q ... Does Pittsburgh Makeup also do hair?
A ...Sorry, but no! We only specialize in makeup, skincare and brow services. Although we do know many great hairstylists that will do on-location hair services if you need a recommendation.
Q... Why not just go to a cosmetics counter at a mall and have my makeup done for free?
A ... That's definately a possibility, but if you want one on one undivided attention, without the pressure to buy products, then a personal makeup artist is your best option. Plus we come to you, so you don't have to worry about waiting in line or traffic!
Q ... What areas will you travel to?
A ... Just about anywhere in Pittsburgh or the surrounding areas!! For areas that require travel over 3o miles one way...then a small additional fee will be applied. We'll also travel much further and even out of state if needed and available...please contact Julie personally for all travel rates. These are based on miles traveled there and back.

Q ... Is a trial makeup application included in the price already?
A ... No, the price for a trial ("practice make-up") is $50. This session lasts a little longer, approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Every bride should consider doing a practice session just for the peace of mind...it will be one less thing to stress about! Read PM's blog to hear a little more about practice sessions (just search PRACTICE in the search box!) http://pghmakeup.wordpress.com
Q ... Do you require a deposit?
A ...Yes. To reserve your wedding date we do require a $50 deposit at time of reservation. This deposit is non-refundable only if you should decide cancel, otherwise it is applied to the wedding date balance. Once you make the decision to reseve with us, then a makeup agreement will be emailed to you.
*** effective May 21st, 2009 ***
If a trial session has been scheduled with us and is a "no show," the $50 deposit will be used for the time that was set aside for the appointment, and not applied to the wedding date balance. We are available by phone or email at all times if you should need to cancel.
Q ... What types of payment do you accept?
A ...We accept Cash, Checks, Visa, Mastercard and Discover for your convenience.
Don't wait to reserve your day...
